Retail florists are in a battle for survival. They are among the last of the locally-owned, independent retail shops.
Retailers are under pressure on all fronts. The Big Wire Services have turned them into virtual sharecroppers, taking valuable profits with exorbitant, multiple fees; retail competition; unprofitable orders; and forcing upon them products and services they don't need.
Retailers need to take steps to reduce their dependence upon The Big Wire Services, as well as the profit drain incurred. Retail florists need to develop lower cost alternatives for web sites, accounting systems, florist-to-florist order exchange, advertising, fresh products and hard goods.
There is no need to be a wire service serf any longer!
